There has been a motoring garage located at Rumbolds Hill for over 100 years. Before that you might have had a new wheel hand crafted to fit on your hay cart! History shows that the first motor fire engine for Midhurst was built here around 1905 and was converted from an 'old' car by John Poate a former owner of the garage.

The tradition of engineering continues on the site with modern workshops complete with complex diagnostic equipment to enable the servicing and repair of cars with integrated electronic systems and performance monitoring computers. Our technicians are trained to diagnose problems quickly and accurately and while the tasks are sometimes challenging, resolving complex issues are very satisfying. In the 21st century the work has evolved from a mechanical occupation, to one requiring high technological skills.
